Glass fibers
Some filters are made from a particularly fine fiberglass, lying between two supports. The pore size is 0.2 micron. Bacteria and protozoa are mechanically retained. The flexibility of the fiberglass and the construction of the filter (in strips) increases the filtration surface as well as the capacity to retain residues.
